Cultural Event “Classical Concert” (13th December, 2014)

 On 13th December 2014, the Embassy of Japan together with the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany and Goethe-Institut Kigali (German Cultural Center) co-organized “CLASSICAL CONCERT” at the Serena Hotel in Kigali City. A Japanese soprano singer, Ms. Mayumi Sakamoto, and a German pianist, Mr. Stephan Rahn performed music by Shumann, Schubert and so on. Some Japanese compositions such as ones by Kosaku Yamada were also performed. VIPs from the Government of Rwanda including Hon. Séraphine Mukantabana, Minister of Disaster Management and Refugee Affairs and Hon. Mutimura, President of the Committee on Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Security in the Chamber of Deputies, as well as diplomats, intellectuals and people of culture attended the concert. It was held in a friendly atmosphere, and the audience enjoyed this kind of classical music which is rarely seen in Kigali.
