On January 7th, Counselor Mr. Sakamoto attended the handover ceremony of livestock assistance in the project of “Enhancing Socio-Economic Reintegration Opportunities for Rwandan Returnees and Other Vulnerable Groups, including community development support in Rwanda” organized by IOM. The project was funded by the Government of Japan in the Japanese fiscal year 2012 with the total amount of three million U.S. dollars aiming at promoting sustainable reintegration for about 5,000 Rwandan returnees and other vulnerable community members. The livestock assistance was provided to 150 vulnerable families (about 1,500 people) in 10 districts to improve their lives.
Mr. Sakamoto made remarks during the ceremony and mentioned that the socio-economic integration of the target group was a key factor for peace, stability and economic growth for Rwanda.
