Glocal Innovation Convention (11th-13th November 2014)

From 11th to 13th November, under the auspice of the Rwanda ICT chamber, “Glocal Innovation Convention” that aims at fostering local content development with global marketability among Africa’s budding technology entrepreneurs was held in Kigali. More than 300 participants gathered, and some Japanese companies also participated. Ambassador Ogawa, invited as a guest, attended and gave his remarks at the opening ceremony, and cut the ceremonial ribbon with Youth and ICT Minister Hon. Nsengimana at the Market Place Exhibition. The Market Place Exhibition which is sponsored by JICA is an innovation exhibition from around the world especially by young African innovators showing and demonstrating their solutions, innovations and business plans of ICT to potential buyers, partners and financiers.

Since 2011, Japan has been supporting making ICT policy of Rwandan government and assisted training enterprises through ICT chamber from software aspect through JICA Rwanda office. This was the first time the convention was held and it will be organized annually.
