Gorilla naming ceremony

The Kwita Izina, annual gorilla naming ceremony was held on 22nd June, and 12 baby gorillas that were born within past one year were given names. Ambassador Ogawa gave a name to a baby gorilla with other personalities such as Jeffrey David Sachs, the economist, and Isaiah Washington, the American TV star. Many tourists from all over the world including Japan, local people, diplomats, international celebrities and Rwandan politicians such as Hon Dr. Pierre Damien Habumuremyi, Prime Minister, Hon. Stanislas Kamanzi, Minister of Natural Resources, Land, Forests, Environment and Mining, and Hon. Francois Kanimba, Minister of Trade and Industry, attended the ceremony.
