The Birthday Celebration of His Majesty The Emperor of Japan on 27th November 2012

On 27th November, the Birthday Celebration of His Majesty The Emperor of Japan took place at the Ambassador's residence. In his speech, Ambassador Hatanaka, among others, explained in details about the history of Japan's imperial houses, informed the guests on friendly bilateral relations between Japan and Rwanda since its independence in 1962, in particular for the last 18 years, and expressed his commitment to closely working with the Government of Rwanda for the success of the 5th Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD V). In response to Ambassador's speech, the Guest of Honour, Hon. Albert NSENGIYUMVA, Minister of Infrastructure, commended Japan's continuing economic cooperation to Rwanda, including "The Project for Construction of Rusumo International Bridge and One Stop Border Post Facilities". He also stated that Rwanda attended great importance to TICAD and its agenda based on African led solutions and ownership towards its development. TICAD V is scheduled to take place in Yokohama, Japan, in June 2013.
