The Ground Breaking Ceremony to Launch the Construction of the Rwanda Peace Academy, 13th October 2011

On 13th October, the ground breaking ceremony of the Rwanda Peace Academy (RPA) took place in Musanze, Northern Province. The Government of Japan has been supporting the RPA, one of the Peace Keeping Operation (PKO) training centres in Africa, through the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). Ambassador Hatanaka in his remarks said that the Government of Japan appreciates the Rwandan government’s efforts toward peace building and is pleased to support the RPA. The Minister of Defense, James Kabarebe, and the UN Resident Coordinator, Aurelien Agbenonci, expressed their gratitude to the Government of Japan for this significant assistance towards peace building.
