Handing Over Ceremony for the Grant Assistance for Grass-Roots Human Security Projects (GGP): Project for Purchase of Medical Equipment for the Lumière Pour Tous Health Center

On February 20, 2015, a Handing Over Ceremony was held in Kinama District, Bujumbura City for the Project for Purchase of Medical Equipment for the Lumière Pour Tous Health Center. With the assistance from the Government of Japan amounting to US$69,135, an echography, a hematology analyzer and other medical equipment were provided. It is expected to expand and improve medical services offered to the local communities where poverty is still prevalent.

 

In his congratulatory speech, Mr. Sakamoto, Counsellor of the Embassy said that the assistance would contribute to assure human security and expressed his wish to see more improvement in healthcare at the grass-root level.

 

Mr.Ndayishimiye, Representative of Lumière Pour Tous, which manages the Health Center said that with the assistance, the Health Center would be able to provide quality medical services to a larger number of people and reassured proper maintenance of medical equipment.

 

Furthermore, Ms. Nakiteretse, Administrator of Kinama and Dr.Ndagijimana, Chief Medical Doctor of Bujumbura North Health District expressed their gratitude for the grant, which in their views, would improve medical services in Kinama where many people lived in poverty.
