Signing Ceremony for the Grant Assistance for Grass-Roots Human Security Projects (GGP): Project for Expansion of Kidasha Health Center (10th December, 2014)

On December 10, 2014, the Embassy of Japan to the Republic of Burundi announced that Eglise de Dieu du 7ème jour au Burundi had been awarded a 97,403 USD grant from the Grant Assistance for Grass-Roots Human Security Projects (GGP) program and held a grant contract signing ceremony. The funding will allow for the construction of an outpatient and maternity wards as well as provision of medical equipment, thereby expanding medical services provided by the Health Center to local communities.
During the ceremony, Ambassador Ogawa said that the grant would contribute to assure Human Security and expressed his wish to see more improvement in healthcare at the grass-root level.
Mr. Ntigirinzigo, Excecutive Secretary of Eglise thanked Japan for its contribution and stressed that with the expansion of the Health Center, a larger number of people would have access to its medical services. Furthermore, Dr. Nkunzimana, Acting Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Health and Fight against AIDS of Burundi expressed his gratitude for the grant, which, in his view, would contribute to improvement in regional health care, one of the major issues to be addressed in Burundi.
