Coffee Seminar was held in Kigali

H.E. Mr. Kazuya Ogawa's Speech at the seminar
On 20th June, a coffee seminar was held at a hotel in Kigali with the attendance of government officials NAEB, processors, exporters, JICA officers and JOCV, welcoming experts from Japan. Ambassador Ogawa made a speech introducing Japan as the fourth country which consumes coffee most in the world and also the amount of import of Rwandan coffee has gradually increased in Japan, and wishing Rwanda makes more efforts to produce higher-quality coffee considering Japan as a promising future market.
At this seminar, NAEB made a presentation on producing and export of Rwandan coffee, and experts from Japan also lectured on techniques, marketing, quality management in order to improve Rwanda coffee and discuss future policy on Rwandan coffee industry. During break time, participants tasted and compared local coffee with coffee being sold in Japan. Many participants listened to experts’ lectures in earnest.
