On 11th June 2010, H.E. Mr. Kunio Hatanaka presented his Credentials to H.E. President Paul Kagame together with six other envoys. Ambassador Hatanaka is the first Japanese Ambassador to the Republic of Rwanda. Previously the Embassy of Japan in Kenya was in charge of bilateral affairs with Rwanda. Japan is ready to cooperate with the Government of Rwanda especially in the areas of development since its own economic development experience can be used due to many similar features of both countries.
