The Birthday Celebration of His Majesty the Emperor of Japan on 16th December 2014

On 16th December, the reception on the occasion of the birthday celebration of His Majesty the Emperor of Japan took place at the Ambassador's residence. Hon. Germaine Kamayirese, Minister of State in charge of Energy and Water of the Republic of Rwanda attended as a guest of honour.
In his speech, Ambassador looked back on this year’s activities such as reciprocal visits that took place between the high leadership, cultural events organized by the Embassy, and the progress of Japanese ODA projects. He especially mentioned about the visit of the Public and Private Sector Joint Mission for Promoting Trade and Investment last August, and said he hoped that this Mission would be associated with the successful of more business relationship between Japan and Rwanda. Minister Kamayirese made a speech, too, and she also mentioned about several visits of Japanese VIPs and the visit of the CEO of RDB to Japan in June this year as a proof for the excellent bilateral relations, and expressed her wish to further strengthen it and also her gratitude for development assistance by Japan.
Hon. Séraphine Mukantabana, Minister of Disaster Management and Refugee Affairs, and several members of the Government of Rwanda as well as diplomatic corps, international organizations and Rwandan private companies also attended the reception. It was held in a friendly atmosphere and offered a good opportunity for the guests to exchange views on various issues among them.
At the reception, Japanese NPO “Reborn Kyoto” presented its project which is supported by the Grant Assistance for Japanese NGO Projects by the Government of Japan. Rwanda Nut Company run by Japanese in Rwanda also introduced their products. Many guests stopped at their booth and showed interests.
