Japan Cultural Event (18th February, 2015)
On 18th February, JICA Alumni Association in Rwanda (JAAR) and the Embassy of Japan organized a cultural event at College Doctrina Vitae in Kigali. About 450 students attended the event. The objective of this event was to explain to the participants about Japanese culture and lifestyle.
On that day, the event started with the opening remarks of Mr. Sakamoto, counsellor of the Embassy of Japan, and other programmes followed such as showing Japanese cultural video, Karate demonstration by Rwanda players as well as Kimono exhibition by the Embassy staff. In addition, two Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteers (JOCV) and JAAR members gave their presentations respectively. JOCV explained about the Japanese culture and education style, especially club activities. JAAR members shared their experiences while they were training in Japan.
The karate demonstration was the most popular programme same as last time, and many students said that they got interested in club activity, which is known as `bukatsu’.
