Japan Cultural Event (2nd November, 2015)

On 2nd November, the Embassy of Japan organized a cultural event at Byimana School of Sciences, and around 800 students attended. The purpose of this event was to show Japanese culture and lifestyle to Rwandan young students, and to interest them about Japan through some cultural activities in order to further strengthen the relationship between our two countries.

On that day, we showed them a Japanese culture video and had some presentations to share the experiences of Rwandan who have studied in Japan through Japanese government scholarship program and Japanese who are living in Rwanda as Japanese volunteer. In addition, there was also a Karate demonstration by Rwandan players.

Comments of the pupils on this event were overall positive, and some of the students asked about Japanese government scholarship program after the event.
