The Birthday Celebration of His Majesty the Emperor of Japan on 26th November 2015

On 26th November, the reception celebrating the birthday of His Majesty the Emperor of Japan took place at the Ambassador's residence. Hon. Tony Roberto Nsanganira, Minister of State in charge of Agriculture of the Republic of Rwanda attended as a guest of honour.
In his speech as host of the reception, Mr. Sakamoto, Charge d’Affaires ad interim, gave a general summary of Japan’s economic cooperation to Rwanda, including the Rusumo International Bridge built at the border with Tanzania, and mentioned the 6th Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD VI) to be held next year in Africa for the first time, before concluding his remarks by wishing to further strengthen the relationship between the two countries. Minister Nsanganira made a speech, expressing his gratitude for development assistance by Japan, and he also stated his wish to reinforce the friendship between Japan and Rwanda.
Despite the rain, the Residence received many guests from the Government of Rwanda, including Minister Nsanganira and Hon. François Kanimba, Minister of Trade and Industry, as well as private companies, diplomatic corps and international organizations, who had interacted each other while enjoying Japanese cuisine and Sake.
At the reception, Japanese NPO “Reborn Kyoto” presented its project supported by the Grant Assistance for Japanese NGO Projects. Companies run by Japanese in Rwanda also introduced their products, such as nuts, honey and jams. Many guests stopped at their booth with great interests.
