Inauguration of the Construction of Samaritan International School (March 29, 2016)

On March 29th, the inauguration ceremony of the Project entitled the “Construction of Samaritan International School” took place in Karangazi sector, Nyagatare District, Eastern Province. This school is owned by International Healing Center Ministries (IHCM), and the project was implemented by Rwandese Health Environment Project Initiative (RHEPI). The project funded by the Government of Japan consists of constructing six classrooms, one storage room, one office room, toilets for pupils and teachers, and installing one water tank and school furniture. With this facility, the new nursery-primary school will greatly contribute to a better access to higher education for students in the area by providing quality education.

Mr. Sakamoto, Chargé d’Affaires a.i of the Embassy, said in his remarks, “I hope that this nursery-primary school will be fully used for children to access quality education so that they can continue through higher education. As a result, I believe that such an educational opportunity will contribute to human resource development that is indispensable for the economic and social development of this area.” The coordinator of RHEPI appreciated all the stakeholders’ ceaseless efforts for the completion of the project. The representative of IHCM also expressed appreciation to the people of Japan and all other partners, and promised that Samaritan International School will provide students in need with an opportunity to pursue their education goals. The representative of Eastern Province commended all the support by the Government and people of Japan, and promised their continuous commitment to improve educational situation in the area.
