Inauguration of the Construction of Gahengeri Primaly School (May 3, 2016)

On May 3rd, the inauguration ceremony of the Project entitled the “Expansion of Gahengeri Primaly School” took place in Gahengeri sector, Rwamagana District, Eastern Province. The project was implemented by Association Rwandaise pour le Développement Rural (ARDR). The project funded by the Government of Japan consists of constructing six classrooms, installing two water tanks and school furniture. With this project, the new facility will reduce the number of children per class in order to receive basic education and improve the learning skills.

Mr. Sakamoto, Chargé d’Affaires a.i, of the Embassy, said in his remarks, “Today, I am delighted to observe that the construction of all the components was completed successfully. I hope that this primary school will be fully used for children to access quality education so that they can continue through higher education.” The coordinator of ARDR appreciated the Government of Japan and the GGP coordinator’s ceaseless efforts for the completion of the project. The executive secretary of Gahengeri sector also expressed appreciation to the people of Japan and all other partners, and mentioned that we are very pleased to resolve the problem of classroom shortage by this project. The Mayor of Rwamagana commended all the support by the Government and people of Japan, and appeal the importance of education to the parents and children.
