Grant Assistance for Grass-Roots Human Security Project (GGP) :
Inauguration of the Construction of a  Kindergarten in Nyanza

 On September 4th, the inauguration ceremony of the project by a local NGO Gira Impuhwe, entitled “Construction of a Kidergarten in Nyanza” took place in Busasamana sector, Nyanza district, Southern Province. The project funded by the Government of Japan consists of constructing the facility of two classrooms with necessary equipment of desks, chairs and shelves as well as play equipment.

 The facility will allow 80 children annually to access pre-school education in order to complete basic education by improving their learning skills. Counsellor Sakamoto of the Embassy said in his remarks, “I expect this kindergarten to be fully utilized for the targeted children to access pre-school education”. The representative of the organization of the project (Gira Impuhwe) appreciated the support from the Government of Japan as the facility has enabled them to improve the learning environment and its capacity to receive more children.
The district Mayor also thanked the support from the Government of Japan in the social and economic domain of the country and he hopes to continue to have a good partnership with the Government of Japan to assist the country’s economic development.
