Signing Ceremony for the Grant Assistance for Grass-roots Human Security Projects (GGP) (23rd December, 2014)

   On 23rd December, the Embassy signed a contract amounting up to 86,797 USD under the scheme of the Grant Assistance for Grass-roots Human Security Projects (GGP) with Peace International School. The organization will implement the Project for the Construction of Dormitory at Peace International School in Busasamana Sector, Nyanza district. This project is to establish a dormitory hall with the installation of 10 toilets and shower rooms as well as 50 beds, a dining hall and two water tanks. The project will enable about 100 targeted students to enroll for the first year and 40 students will annually be able to access quality education.

   Ambassador Ogawa said in his remarks that through GGP, the project was expected to strengthen the Rwandan society to achieve the Millennium Development Goals, one of which aims at the achievement of universal primary education. The Ambassador also congratulated the organization for being selected for second time. Denis Mugabo, Chairman of Peace International School appreciated the support for underprivileged children in particular those from refugees.
