The Inauguration ceremony of the Peace International School through Grass roots Human Security Project, 22nd June 2011

On June 22nd, the inauguration ceremony of Peace International School funded by the Government of Japan through the GGP program took place in Nyanza District. The school is comprised of six classroom blocks, an administration office, twelve toilets and two water tanks. Ambassador Hatanaka commended this achievement saying that he was delighted to observe the school buildings were completed soundly as planned to enable the school to fulfill its mission of delivering education to the vulnerable children which can contribute to achieve the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). The chairman of the Peace International School noted that education is central to the development of a country which was destroyed by the Genocide and promised to continue all efforts towards improvement of education standards, especially in disadvantaged areas.
