Lecture by Dr. Sadaharu Kataoka, Professor of Waseda University , 8th and 9th August 2011

On 8th and 9th August, Dr. Sadaharu Kataoka, Professor of Waseda University, gave lectures at the National University of Rwanda (NUR) and the Kigali Independent University (ULK). The lectures under the theme of Peace consolidation in the Great Lakes region and the role of Japanese Diplomacy were attended by students and academic staff members at respective universities. He introduced a wide range of topics such as history between Africa and Japan from the 16th century, the bilateral relation between Rwanda and Japan, and Japan’s economic cooperation, namely TICAD process. Dr. Kataoka commended Rwanda for displaying good leadership and governance and said that he was encouraged by various good progresses Rwanda has achieved.
