[NEW] Embassy of Japan: Grant Program for NGOs and Local Public Authorities

The Embassy of Japan in Rwanda is delighted to announce funding opportunities under its program “Grant Assistance for Grass-Roots Human Security Projects.” The Grant, up to 10 million yen (approximately USD 90,000), can be provided to construct buildings and to purchase equipment.

•Construction of facilities:dormitories, classrooms, workshops, health centers, hospitals, farmer centers, water kiosks, rain water tanks, etc.
•Provision of equipment and materials:three-seater desks, chairs, tables, cupboards, etc.
•Technical or educational training/workshops:to complement these two above mentioned activities.

25 organizations in Rwanda have received the grants over the past 8 years.
• Community-based organizations
• Local & international NGOs
• Local authorities (ex. city council & district)
• Educational institutions (ex. school management committee)
• Medical institutions (ex. hospital management committee)
• Research institutions
Not Eligible for Consideration
• Individuals or private companies and groups
• Organizations without certificate of registration or been registered less than two years from the application date (organizations are required to submit their copy of certificate.)
• Organizations without title deeds or proof of ownership
