 On December 11, 2017, a business mission of 12 people from Kobe City consisting of local government officials and representatives of private companies visited Rwanda. Ambassador Miyashita and the delegation paid a courtesy call on Hon. Pascal Nyamulinda, Mayor of Kigali.

 The representative of Kobe City official expressed his gratitude to the Mayor for sending the Rwandan mission to Africa Business Seminar held in Kobe in November, while products and services of the private companies were showcased. Mayor Nyamulinda, on his part, welcomed their visit to Rwanda and said that there are a variety of investment opportunities in Kigali such as ICT, transportation, waste management, and real estate development.

 In the evening, Ambassador Miyashita hosted a reception and the over 40 guests including Mayor Nuamulinda, government officials and representatives of private companies in ICT sector attended. It became a good opportunity for Kobe mission members and Rwandan counterparts to interact with each other. In his welcoming remark, Ambassador Miyashita said “It is very commendable that Kigali City and Kobe City have constructed good relationship since 2016 when two cities signed a joint declaration. I wish Kobe delegation experiences excellent security and business environment in Rwanda and utilizes this weeklong stay for building cooperative relations with new Rwandan partners for future investment”.
