UNFPA project "Strengthening Maternal, Sexual and Reproductive Health, Gender Based Violence Prevention and Response in humanitarian settings in the context of COVID-19 pandemic" Handover Ceremony of Medical Equipment

On March 18, at UNFPA office in Kigali, Ambassador IMAI participated in the handover ceremony of medical equipment procured as part of the UNFPA project "Strengthening Maternal, Sexual and Reproductive Health, Gender Based Violence Prevention and Response in humanitarian settings in the context of COVID-19 pandemic" supported by Japan's FY2020 supplemental budget.


The project aims to strengthen quality maternal and child health, sexual and reproductive health (SRH), and gender-based violence (GBV) prevention in refugee camps in Rwanda, with the amount of 497,245 USD donated by Japan.
At the ceremony, Ambassador IMAI handed medical equipment (beds, bed partitions, trolleys, stretchers, wheelchairs, oxygen concentrators, etc.) to project partners, AHA, ALIGHT, and SCI.
Ambassador IMAI expressed his hope that the medical equipment will greatly contribute to strengthening the quality of maternal and child health care and sexual and reproductive health care in refugee camps.
