Signing Ceremony for “the Project for Constructing Nursery and Primary school in Ngoma District” under the Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP/Kusanone)

On November 1, at the Embassy of Japan in Kigali, Ambassador IMAI and Bishop Emmanuel NTAZINDA, Legal Representative of Anglican Church of Rwanda Kibungo Diocese, signed a Grant Contract amounting up to 89,383 USD under GGP.

The project aims to provide safe and appropriate educational environment for around 400 nursery and primary school students by constructing the new school buildings. It is one of the Embassy’s targets to support education to promote the quality of basic education in Rwanda.

Ambassador IMAI said in his remarks: “As Nelson MANDELA said, ‘Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world’. Investing in education, especially basic education, is very fundamental to not only start healthy life, but also improve where we live. I hope that children will enjoy classes under the appropriate school environment and maintain the facility well so that future children will also be able to have benefit from this Project.”
Bishop Emmanuel NTAZINDA, expressed his appreciation to the Government and the people of Japan for this valuable assistance, and promised that the Project would be implemented successfully.
