Under the "Project for Strengthening and Promoting Coffee Value Chain in Rwanda”, Japan, through JICA, aims to improve profitability of the coffee sector in Rwanda through strengthening and promoting Coffee Value Chain in Rwanda.
In so doing, JICA has been working on 1) increasing the recognition of Rwandan coffee in the international markets, 2) developing higher quality and more profitable coffee production model, and 3) making the good linkage among the coffee-related organizations as national-level platforms involving all coffee stakeholders. The project aims to strengthen the value chain and contribute to profitability by building good partnerships among related groups and organizations through the platform.

At the ceremony, Ambassador Fukushima said, " It is my great honour to be here with all of you today on the occasion of awarding ceremony of Best of Rwanda 2024, its first edition of competition. Let me begin with congratulating the winner of Best of Rwanda 2024, you must be proud of the award, given the highest level of performance of participants and applauding the excellent and intensive work of the international jury led by Ms. Sherri Johns. I would like to express my highest appreciation to the efforts of all those who contributed to the realization of this event for the first time in the country.
The achievements in the Rwandan coffee industry would not have been possible without the tireless efforts and passion of farmers over the years.
Finally, I would like to pay tribute to NAEB and all the stakeholders for the dedicated work once again, and to wish you the further development of the Best of Rwanda as an annual event of excellence of Rwandan coffee industry.," he said.
