Japan has published a PR video titled “Journey of Japan’s Development Cooperation in Rwanda”
Japan has been implementing human-centred development cooperation for decades with a particular focus on “Human Security”, respecting African countries' sense of ownership in responsible and proactive development and promoting partnerships among stakeholders. “Human Security” focuses on the well-being of individuals through “Protection,” “Empowerment” and “Solidarity” to create a society, where people can live in dignity, free from fear or lack.
In Rwanda, with a variety of partners including the United Nations agencies and Civil Society Organisations, the Government of Japan hand-in-hand with JICA has provided a wide range of development and humanitarian assistance such as Economic Infrastructure Development, Agriculture Development, Social Service Improvement, Human Resources Development for Sustainable Growth and Job Creation, and humanitarian assistance to refugees and asylum-seekers.
Taking this opportunity, the Embassy of Japan expresses its profound gratitude to the Government of Rwanda and its partners for their continuous collaborations with Japan. Japan will remain committed to Rwanda's development where no one will be left behind.
