Exchanging Grant Contract
Monday, January 26, 2026- H.E. Ambassador NAKAJO Kazuya, together with Mr Ndayambaje, President of Association des Volontaires pour l’Assistance aux Enfants Handicapé, signed a grant contract under the framework of Japan’s Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP).

The Government of Japan will provide a grant of 89,725 USD for the construction of a dormitory with a capacity of 102 residents. The facilities will be furnished with 96 beds including double beds and other essential furniture. In addition,  22 wheelchairs, 10 support walkers, and sports equipment will be provided.

Upon completion of the project, children requiring long-term care will be able to stay on site and benefit from continuous, comprehensive therapy and education in an appropriate supportive environment.

During the signing ceremony, Ambassador NAKAJO reaffirmed Japan’s commitment to supporting children with disabilities, particularly in helping them acquire the skills they need to live with, which is a crucial factor of “Human Security”,  the philosophy which has been guiding Japan’s development assistance.
