Mr. Fukuoka from KIC explains signed MOU
On October 21, 2016, on the occasion of the visit of public-private delegation from Kobe to Rwanda, a reception for Japanese and Rwandan ICT sector was held at the Ambassador’s Residence of Japan. From Japanese side, representatives of Kobe City, business community, and academics from Kobe Institute of Computing (KIC), and from Rwandan side, ICT public and private sector lead by Hon. Nsengimana, Minister of Youth and ICT attended. Following the speech by H.E. Mr. Miyashita, Ambassador of Japan and Hon. Minister Nsengimana, the reception was held in a very friendly atmosphere and people from both countries exchanged their ideas freely. In this reception, Rwandans who have just completed two-year study program in Japan also participated and acted as a bridge between Rwandan and Japanese counterparts. Overall, this ICT reception played a very important role in strengthening the bilateral relationship between two countries in ICT sector.
On the sideline of this reception, an MOU signing ceremony was held between Rwandan ICT Chamber, KIC , Kobe City, JICA, and the Ministry of Youth and ICT of Rwanda with the presence of H.E. Mr. Miyashita and Hon. Nsengimana. This MOU stipulates a concrete path toward the realization of “K-Initiative” which aims to produce 1,000 software engineers in the field of ICT.
